"Give a Brake" to Emergency Responders
The members of the Beaver Dam Fire & Rescue Department are joining other emergency agencies across the country in a new safety effort. The department has purchased new emergency signs to warn drivers of an accident ahead. Every year, emergency workers and road maintenance people are seriously hurt or killed because motorists fail to slow down for these zones. The new signs are a highly reflective pink that is easily distinguishable from construction zone signs. We understand that it can be annoying to be slowed down or stopped for an accident, but in order to help the injured and make the roadway safe again, we need your cooperation and understanding. PLEASE!!! Slow down and obey signs, police officers, or firefighters attempting to move traffic safely.
