Parks & Forestry

The Parks & Forestry Department is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of almost 300 acres of park lands and related facilities, as well as the city's urban forestry program.

Beaver Dam has been a Tree City USA since 1992!  Residents are urged to check with the City Forester (John Neumann) before planting trees in the terrace (between the curb and sidewalk), as species are restricted in that area. Forestry operations include trimming and removal of city-owned trees, and the forester may order removal of private trees if they present a hazard to public safety.

The department also provides facility support for recreational programs, community functions, and pier operations at the city's aquatic and lake facilities.
