Common Council
The Common Council of the City of Beaver Dam consists of a Council President and 13 alderpersons, each elected to represent one of fourteen wards. Alderpersons from even-numbered wards are elected in April of even-numbered years, and alderpersons from odd-numbered wards are elected in odd-numbered years. All terms are for two years. Committees of the Common Council are made via aldermanic appointment; all committee assignments are for one year. It meets on most 1st and 3rd Mondays at 8:00PM in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, a fully-accessible facility.
